My birthday month rolls on. Yes, I get a month this year, I turned…?
Jay and I began walking in April to clear our minds of COVID fears.
We walk. Grab a bite + beverage + walk some more. We decided to walk from Vancouver to Saskatoon and back without leaving Vancouver (more than 2,000 miles). We are on our way home. The step counter taunts us.
Yesterday, we were passing the Red Accordion on Alberni street. Jay said, “What’s this place?”
One of the owners, Jamie, heard us and replied, “A hidden gem – with the best burger in Vancouver.” It was Jamie’s 40th birthday.
Thirty minutes later, we returned. We ordered the burger + calamari + zucchini blossoms (stuffed with cheese) + a blood orange beer + a mocha beer ++
First bite. A wonderful array of taste sensations burst forth in perfect harmony. Our taste buds began fighting each other in an effort to horde the succulent flavours.
The rest of the bites: Hidden Gem + Best Burger doesn’t do the Red Accordion justice.
